In my not so humble opinion there is only 1 true screen version of Hamlet, and after 11 years it is FINALLY available on DVD. I've always been a fan of Kenneth Branagh's Shakespeare films (Hamlet, Much Ado..., Henry V, Othello). He manages to bring the passion, humor, and excitement of Shakespeare play to film in a way nobody else comes close to. This film is beautiful (shot in 70mm) with wonderful sets and costumes. If you like Branag's work, you have to see this film. If you love Shakespeare's Hamlet, you have to see this flim.
